TWTD Teams Crash at Soccer Sixes Fri 25th May 2012 21:14
Two teams made up of TWTD readers were involved in today’s Soccer Sixes tournament on the main pitch at Portman Road. Sadly both Atletico TWTD and Dynamo TWTD — wearing kit kindly provided by the ITFC Charitable Trust - failed to get to grips with the near perfect conditions and the spoils went elsewhere.

Jason Scotland and goal-a-game midfielder Keith Andrews scored the goals as the Blues came from behind to beat 10-man Leeds United 2-1 at Portman Road. The visitors dominated the first half and went in front via Ross McCormack, but after the break Leeds had Aidan White sent off for pulling down Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Scotland and then Andrews’s deflected last-minute strike saw Town to the points.

Jaime Peters was a 55th minute substitute for the Canadian national ‘soccer’ team in their friendly match in Buenos Aires against World Cup hopefuls Argentina, but he was unable to stem the tide in a woeful 5-0 defeat.

Town will not have advertising on their shorts during 2005/06, however this could change in future seasons. Changes to Football League rules last season allow clubs to sell smaller adverts on their kit in addition to their main sponsors.
